It was the Admiral of the Italian Navy Francesco Capece, to buy the Villa at his retirement from the Royal Navy in July of 1918, and named it like his beloved wife Aminta. The Zanetta family, owners of Villa Aminta since 2000, have restored the villa to its original splendor, after having conducted accurate historical research. The villa has been embellished with antique furniture, stuccos, chandeliers, arabesques and oriental arches in homage to the historical relationship with the Venetian Republic.

Set on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Villa e Palazzo Aminta offers a luxurious wellness centre, a private garden on the lake, and an outdoor heated swimming pool overlooking the Borromean Islands. Parking is free, and there is also a private pier.

Accommodation includes free Wi-Fi, a marble bathroom, original frescoes, and Murano glass lamps. Most rooms have a balcony with views of the lake or the park. Junior suites and suites are also available. All rooms and suites features goose-feather duvets, a pillow menu and a free minibar upon request.

Part of the Leading Hotels of the World, the Aminta has a bar open all day. Drinks and snacks are served out on the sun terrace or by the pool. The Le Isole restaurant serves gourmet cuisine, and Italian dishes can be enjoyed at the I Mori restaurant.

The Grotta di Palazzo Aminta wellness area features a Turkish bath, a hot tub, and a variety of massages and beauty treatments, all on request and upon reservation. The property also offers a free gym and guests can rent bikes upon request at an additional cost.The hotel also offers Electric Car charging stations.

Villa e Palazzo Aminta Hotel is a 15-minute walk from Stresa. A free scheduled shuttle is available during the day that takes guests to the town.
