The Quintinha de São Joao is not just a beautifully constructed establishment but it has “soul”. Every little detail has been considered and planned with love and care. You are, in fact, staying in one of the Madeira residences of a past era. The days of when elegant luxury, first class service and cuisine were plentiful and the pleasure of beautiful surroundings, paintings, furnishings, antiques and local embroidery were abundant. This is the Quintinha de São João. It is timeless! Guests have told us that, when entering the hotel, they feel as if there are being given a “hug”! Together with the personal yet professional service, we have become the epitome of the phrases “Home from Home” or “Your Home in Madeira”. “Home” is the operative word and we wish you to feel relaxed, happy and totally at ease. We have not, however, forgotten that there is still the “world” out there and so we have added all the mod-cons which live in harmony with “the past”. Free WIFI throughout the hotel; the latest technology in TVs and DVDs; two heated swimming pools, gymnasium, games room, bar, restaurant and Spa - all these nestle nicely together within the Quintinha.

Set in lush, landscaped gardens, 5-star Quintinha São João features a spa and indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools. Overlooking central Funchal and the bay, it is 2 km from Funchal Cathedral.

The spacious, elegant rooms provide a cable TV with DVD player, a minibar and private bathroom with hairdryer. Some rooms have a private, furnished balcony with views of the garden or Funchal Bay.

The hotel has 2 bars and a restaurant serving a selection of Portuguese and international cuisine, as well as Goan specialities.
